We share the love of Jesus with people who are struggling with or recovering from life’s battles. The groups in our support ministries are here to help, uplift and encourage those who need it.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry consists of a select group of individuals who provide longterm, one-on-one support for those who are struggling with loss of a loved one, finances, divorce, employment, health or any type of hardship.  Stephen Ministers receive over 80 hours of training.  They provide care in the form of active listening, prayer, and an ongoing presence in a person’s struggles.

Lay Pastors

Lay Pastors are pastoral visitors who provide short-term support to the elderly and those with medical/health issues.  Lay Pastors are an extension of our Pastors at New Ridge.  As such, lay pastors visit with those who are homebound, hospitalized, in nursing homes, manors, rehabs, and continuing care facilities.

‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

Matthew 25:40

CARE MINISTRIES

Each ministry helps meet the needs of those going through a difficult time.

Prepared Meals

Meal Ministry

Meal Ministry consists of volunteers with caring hearts and a culinary desire to help those in need by providing meals.  Recipients of the meals are those who are experiencing hardships, and typically do not have family or friends available to provide meals.

Prayer Shawl

The Prayer Shawl Ministry creates shawls and other items for people in need of prayer and comfort. As they knit or crochet, they pray for the person who will receive the item, and all items are also prayed over by the pastors during services

Praying Together

Prayer Team

Prayer Team is the ministry of those who pray one-on-one with individuals who seek the comfort and prayerful support.  The Prayer Team consists primarily of Stephen Ministers and Lay Pastors, who joyfully approach our Lord in prayer with any individual who comes to the Prayer Room at the end of any service on Sunday mornings.

Widowed Ministry

The Widowed Ministry consists presently of several events throughout the year, as well as the GriefShare support group.  Widowed Ministry is in a period of development and formation.  Journeying Through Grief is a set of four short books sent to those mourning the loss of a partner at four critical times during the first year.

Card Ministry

Prayer Warriors

Prayer Warriors are volunteers throughout our church who have committed to pray for anyone who has submitted a prayer request.  The Prayer Warrior email goes out weekly with a list of request for that week.  We presently have 96 warriors who pray throughout the week for all those requests.

PRAYER REQUESTS

We believe in the importance of daily communication with God.  We value the power of individual as well group prayer.

"And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it."  John 14:13-14 NIV

*For urgent prayer requests please email John Midgley Director of Care, or contact the church office at 610-323-2353.
